As the game of the newest version continues to grow, we are starting to see changes to the way things are played as well. The most important change has been that the Fantasy Flight Games team has taken the time to implement a new rule based around the removal of the “level up” system. Now instead of receiving a whole new number after a level, players will receive a skill that can be used in a number of different skills and many different ways! As for the rules themselves? Let’s go ahead and break it down in my own way. Fantasy Flight Games has made an attempt to balance out some of the archaic aspects of the game in this version. While rules that are rarely needed are gone, this also means that some rules are now in need of being reworked in order for this version of the game to be more fun. This includes the weapon damage being increased to better reflect the differences between Legendary and Non-Legendary weapons, spells being revised to make their reliance on percentages more understandable, and changes to be made to some of the new features included in the game such as the new skill system mentioned in the previous paragraph. During this time, the team has also been working on other features. These include an overhaul to the skills that can be used and the ability to update your character if they’re somehow defeated, as well as a complete overhaul of the Character Sheet to make it more useful and also to help with the pace of

The combat system is not the best in the world, but it is fun. You are limited to moving in all directions and attacks are made with a single button. You can block and perform counter attacks by holding down either attack button and your character will block automatically. If you block a certain amount of times it will turn into a counter attack. Your total attack gets shared among all party members so you don’t have to worry about pushing one character to the point of death. The game will display how much the counter attack will cost and you will also be shown any injuries if you block too much. The fighting system is fun and allows you to attack from afar or close up. For a lot of characters, medium and short ranged attacks are effective. Magic skills get less powerful as you get further away from the enemy. Equipment affects how you fight and Magic skills are useful in boss fights. As expected of an RPG, you can increase your character stats by beating bosses and finding items and experience. You can also make your own class by mixing and matching weapons, gear, and skills. As you progress in the game, you will have unlock more spells for your character. My favourite character is a Female Knight. Her party is a balance of armor heavy, strong and slow characters. My experience with this game is that the game very easy to play but requires a lot of practice.
