the story is a solid one. the tale of how goku and vegeta have faced off countless times is something that is hard to find in games and i am glad that they chose to make a game like this with dragon ball z. it allows you to truly get a feel for what the stakes are in each battle and the twists that the writers can throw in at you. it is not a simple tale and does require some thought from the player to figure out what is going on, but it is well written.
the multiplayer is what makes this game shine. you can play up to 4 players in ad-hoc and online matches. the ad-hoc is like you are in the same room as your friend, but it is split screen. you can play with a friend or a stranger and even invite them to join in on your fights. online you can play in the typical dragon ball z style of 1 v 1 in ranked matches or you can try out the arcade mode where you can fight a bunch of different characters at once.
