adobe director is one of those commercial applications i keep meaning to get round to reviewing, but can never seem to find the time! of course, this was before the “cool kids” got around to making this application possible. for a long time, this adobe director (or nsad, as i like to call it) application was our first resort for capturing motion graphics on projects with the adobe after effects application. it was actually just a re-skin of after effects, and was actually developed by macromedia, as was after effects. as adobe bought macromedia, they absorbed the team, and used some of the macromedia application staff to develop their own product, rebranding it as a brand new adobe product, called director. it was actually really bad to be honest!first of all, it had a horrific interface. in a move that would later be copied by all, adobe wanted to make this application in such a way that it looked the same as its flash counterpart, except it was in the age of anarchy! who wants to see the same interface as the flash counterpart? even less people!the interface was so bad, in fact, that some people actually think that this interface is what they are familiar with when using flash. it wasn’t. many people actually state that they thought this was their flash, or their flash pro interface! in fact, adobe, like many software companies, had to rebrand their products many times over the years, in order to try and increase sales, and have the same products across many platforms. also, they would use the same interface on all platforms, and even across the different version numbers of the same application. we had a product once, called avstracks, which was actually a collection of packages that were all the same except for their interface. 5ec8ef588b
