One of the problems faced by those trying to prepare for the GAMSAT is the massive amount of material available online. GAMSAT is not the only examination you have to worry about if you want to succeed in the education system, and this year GAMSAT was followed by the PACEs.
Of course with such an assessment, we have expected an increase in both the difficulty and the sheer volume of the questions in the PACE, and this year, the GAMSAT was the first to experience that.
The weighting in PACE does not match quite so closely to the GAMSAT, but it’s not as severe as in some of the other examinations, but there are still 20 percent of the questions requiring greater critical thinking.
The fact is that the GAMSAT exam is now one of the most difficult examinations in Australia, and it’s certainly one of the most daunting. But if you’re prepared to put the work in, you’ll certainly be well prepared when the examination rolls around.
Try and answer as many GAMSAT questions as you can in a short period of time. You’ll be able to write comments on your results and get feedback on your working methods from your Tertiary School Counselor. You can choose to attend university or work for 6-12 months, and then sit for the GAMSAT again to improve your score.
I will be doing a no-holds-barred video course on the GAMSAT, and I will be taking all of the questions from the GAMSAT from ACER in advance, so that I can answer them and turn them into videos during the course, for absolutely free. The course is intended for those who are either not in a position to apply to a tertiary institution, or are unsure whether they should try and do so, or for those who are able to apply to a tertiary institution but simply want to strengthen their skills. So it’s a bit of a middle-of-the-road course. While I do answer some of the questions from a tertiary point of view, I’m not exclusively addressing those issues. But what you will learn in this course is how to approach GAMSAT questions effectively, by looking at them from a different angle, or how you might approach a particular question from a tertiary perspective, as well as other more personal matters like your strengths and weakness.
