if this kind of detailed and accurate amp simulation of tube amps is possible with the jvm, its unbelievable that its possible with the software that you can actually buy. its a really good product, i just dont know if its worth the high price. for myself. its a little too advanced for my purposes, but then again, i need to save some money for my next amp purchase.
it is nice enough for the quick tweak of presets. i cant see any difference between the jvm sim and the actual amp, but at $500 this is way to expensive for me. i just dont think it does what is advertised as the amp sim. i have bought 2 devices at around $100 that did what it said it would do with protools and they were usb devices.
i dont believe that the jvm has any direct relationship with the satch amps. if you play the pre-amp with it and the monitors. the tones arent the same. not as close as what you can get out of an actual amp. and if you check them out at different volume settings youll hear some differences as well. its not hard to mix the two tones. they arent the same. if i set my marshall to 100% volume and use the software sim. i can set it to 80% volume and get the tones back. especially if i turn on effects.
worth the money if you like your tones loud. but if you are like me, and need a quieter amp to play with in a smaller space, you will be disappointed. the software isnt going to give you the exact tones of a real amp like the satch, its more of a plug-in/front-end for your amp.
